Randy Angell began his design career working for a custom home builder through his high school years. By the end of his senior year, he had designed dozens of custom homes that were built in the Plano, McKinney, and North Dallas areas. As Randy expanded his design horizons to include swimming pools and landscape design, he embarked on his own to develop his first design firm, "Design Inspiration". In January of 2016, Randy Angell Designs was born.
Since then, Randy has begun developing a team of designers who share his vision of forward-thinking design. Design that follows the company motto, "we live outside the box". With influences including modern architecture from around the world, industrial design, interior design, and nature itself; Randy Angell Designs brings a fresh vision and passion to all of their designs. Though focused mainly on Exterior Design, Randy's background in residential architectural design, makes him uniquely qualified to help clients who are looking for a singular voice, when embarking on a project that may include a full home design, home renovation/addition, or a guest house/pool house, in conjunction with their exterior project. the process
CONSULT
Contact us via phone, email, or even text. We'll schedule an in-person consultation to assess your space and your goals. For non-local projects across the nation or around the globe, we can schedule a phone conference or web meeting.
PROPOSE
Copious notes from our consultation interview are translated into a scope of work and a formal proposal, organized with design objectives, fee schedules, and a precise list of deliverables. The proposal is then delivered to you, along with an invoice for deposit.
ENGAGE
Upon receipt of a signed agreement and a deposit payment, your project is immediately placed into our design queue. We begin gathering as many documents as we can that will inform us about your property, with the most important one being your property survey.
MEASURE
Using your property survey, house plans or site plan, we lay out the footprint of your home, measure all relevant doors & windows, locate trees, and survey the terrain to record all elevation changes, giving us a perfect snapshot of your existing space
DESIGN
The fun finally begins! We ponder, we sketch, we model, and we consult a portrait of Frank Lloyd Wright. All while taking into consideration an obsessive amount of notes which we’ve compiled on your wants, needs, goals, tastes and the lifestyle your family lives
PRESENT
We schedule a date to come back out to your home and present you with a virtual fly-through video, a thoroughly detailed, architecturally-stylized 3D model, and a large-format color plan of the entire design area. The final payment is due upon presentation
REVISE
After having time to “digest” the design, we later discuss a list of changes you’d like to see made (if any). We then agree on the changes and immediately make a revised design. We complete the process and the agreement by sending you a revised set of deliverables
BEYOND...
You now have a perfect design that you cannot live without! The next step is to share the design and solicit competitive bids from qualified builders. We’ll explain the many in which RAD can remain involved in future steps, like bidding, permitting, construction planning, construction consulting, and even finish-out & furnishing selections, all services which are available by separate agreement

Spending any amount of time around Randy seems to be proof that Elon Musk might be wrong about the dangers of artificial intelligence. As a robot, Randy not only possesses the unparalleled level of analytical precision and design skill that his raving fans have come to expect, but with his latest firmware update he now comes with revolutionary new features like, patience, compassion, composure, something called "smiling" and an overall human sensibility that Apple's Siri may never achieve.

Previously, our favorite (and only) intern, Matthew is now a graduate of Texas A&M's "School of Landscape Architecture". Matthew has a broad knowledge of all things plant-related. He's spent hours listening to them and understanding their way of life; such as, what they eat, where they sleep, which plants they get along with, what movies they like, and what they hope to be when they grow up. Matthew has already proven to be an invaluable asset to the team, and we can't wait to see how he helps us grow!

Michelle is responsible for all of the things that keep a business functioning. She manages the "numbers" that terrify us. She makes the important decisions that we can't handle. And she quietly does it all while Randy takes the credit. She also manages to sneak unicorn-themed paraphernalia into the office every chance she gets. The only other thing you need to know is that she's also a human version of "Yelp".

Not only was the design original, innovative, and breathtakingly beautiful, but Randy’s referral to a top-notch builder (Elite Outdoor Living) and his ability to work seamlessly with the builder to execute his design flawlessly meant that the finished project looked exactly like his renderings. We were amazed to procure the services of such a celebrated, award-winning designer at such a great value.
Randy and his team not only constructed detailed renderings and specs for the work but also produced a 3D computer animated video of the entire project so we could envision the completed project. They consulted closely with our builder throughout the several-months project, visited the project several times, and worked directly with us on materials choices. When the job was done, they had the whole project professionally photographed and filmed. Candidly, we would have been satisfied just to get Randy’s masterful design (which our friends say has transformed our home into a “Four Seasons resort”). We weren’t expecting the white glove service details on top of that and were truly floored.
